You got new furniture, made repairs or somehow upheld the apartment-and suddenly the neighbors flooded you. The situation, to put it mildly, is unpleasant. However, you can pick it up, get full compensation and bear the least losses. What do I need to do?
1. First of all, turn off the electricity even when small spots appear on the walls or ceilings. The fact is that water can accumulate in construction cavities and ceilings, and wiring can take place nearby.
2. Then call the management organization, report on flooding and the need for a commission to draw up an act. Do not forget to record the position and surname of the call, as well as the time of the call. For more confidence, go to the organization yourself or send one of the family members and control that the appeal is recorded documented.
3. Next, determine the source of flooding and block it as soon as possible. However, this is not always possible. If you are flooded from above, and the neighbors at home have forgotten to close the crane, then it will be easy to block it. But if a pipe or battery broke somewhere, the situation is complicated, since it is necessary to block the riser or heating pipes, and not everyone can do this, sometimes only a locksmith does it at all. That is why you need to call the management organization as soon as possible. If you are flooded from the apartment from above, and there no one opens the door, you can open it only in one case – when there are officials and a protocol is compiled.
In no case do not insult your neighbors and do not break the doors yourself. This may lead to criminal punishment.
4. When the commission draws up an act of flooding, demand a copy of this document. It will come in handy, especially if the flood occurred through the fault of the HUE, for example, pipe workers.
5. Fifth. When the act is executed, another act is drawn up – about the damage caused, or a defective statement. This can be done by both representatives of the managing organization and independent experts. The act should record all damage to furniture, devices, coatings, etc. D. Acts on flooding and damage are necessary, since without them you cannot prove anything, no matter who was the culprits of flooding.
How to proceed further? If the neighbors are to blame, you can discuss ways to compensate for damage. If then occurred due to worn or poor-quality communications, immediately go to court. Otherwise it is almost impossible to get compensation from the managing organization.
In this case, you will need acts of flooding and damage, certificate and property, accounts, estimates, checks and other documents on the cost of repair. If the checks are preserved for spoiled things, also attach them to the lawsuit. In some cases, you can recover an infantry for moral damage.
