The heating battery should not look boring. These devices are very useful in our homes, especially when the cold time comes outside the window and the thermometer column begins to continuously decline. In winter, we especially love our beautiful batteries, but in most cases we consider them not so a pretty addition to our interior. This is especially true for old houses where old heating batteries are installed. There are four solutions to resolve the issue, and we will talk about them in this article.
1. Repaint the battery
Before trying to hide the radiator, try to accept its beauty. You can cover the battery with a layer of clean paint, and it is better to show your talent and decorate it in an unusual manner, say, a combination of bright warm tones shimmering with each other or depict 3D graphics on the battery. But if you want the battery to merge more with the interior than to stand out from it, paint it in the color of the walls. Just remember, you need heat -resistant paint, and you also need to clean the metal and apply a primer to it before painting.
2. Hide the battery
The most popular version of the interior solution for batteries today is their hidden for special radiator screens. These devices can be bought in a store, make or build on your own. If you are afraid that the screens for the batteries will absorb part of the heat, then simply place a sheet of metal or foil behind the radiator to warmly affect the room.
The battery screen is, in fact, a tripartite box with holes on the front side through which heat passes. The top cover of the radiator can be used as an additional countertop.
3. Use the battery
The upper part of the radiator may be the perfect place for the built -in shelf. When a piece of wood or stone is at the top of the radiator, it becomes a comfortable table or book shelf. If you decide to use wood, remember that it can be deformed, so the shelves are recommended to be made a few centimeters above the radiator.
If you are afraid of wood next to a hot battery, try a plate of stone, marble or brick.
4. Decorate the battery
When your battery is not used, you can place a phone or frame with photos on it.
